Back for Now

Sorry about the lateness of this post. I've been doing some work outside of everything else. Plus, I've been dealing with depression for a while, so I ended up losing a lot of interest in things. No worries though, makeup has still been pretty big for me and I still spend a boat load of money on it. I have been buying a bunch of different things and trying a bunch of other stuff. So without further ado, I will tell people what has been going on in my little world of makeup.

So, I have been trying out the Revlon Colorstay liquid foundation. I have to say that I'm very happy with it. I do have a slight problem with color matching. My skintone is not very, natural, I guess. I am an in between shade, I guess you could say. I've noticed that most colors don't match my face. However, I have tried using EDM (Every Day Minerals). I was very happy with the outcome of the mineral foundations, but I just found that it wasn't very practical for me, for everyday use. But I did find it very nice, covers decent if you get the intensive formula. So, not only did I try the Revlon foundation, I also decided to give a few others a try as well. I tried the Almay Smart Balance Smart Shade foundation as well. Now that one went over like hell in a handbasket. It was majorly orange on my face, and that was using the lightest color. So I tried something new that Wet N' Wild had come out with, which was a blend of color matching foundation and primer. That was the best stuff I had really ever used. Minus one problem. It didn't really cover. It was more like a tinted primer. The color matched really good but there just wasn't enough of it. I hope that Wet N' Wild goes back to the drawing board and does that one a bit better. I could def. see myself buying that consistently as the quality was extremely decent for the price. Then there is my newest favorite. The Revlon Spa one. I don't remember the whole name of it but it's the funky one that has the foundation brush attached to it. The color is slightly too light, but as for foundations that don't have a lot of funky sounding flesh tone names, this one was extremely decent. I know that people say this foundation is one of Revlon's worst, but I really like it.

So today, I decided to go out for once, and went to see"New Moon". This isn't a review on movies, so I'll just get to the point. I went to Wal-Mart, and was carousing through their christmas isle and noticed these "Get the Look" sets that offered 2 looks in each palette with 4 different Looks at only $3 a piece. Now, knowing me, I just couldn't help myself , so I bought 3 of them. I got the Smokey, Romantic, and Vixen. The other one they had was a Metallic, and right now I'm just not that into dark, glittery green eyeshadow at the moment. So today I had a looksee at the Romantic pallete and decided to give the green romantic look a go. These are not bad eyeshadows, but they are not the best. Nevertheless, for the price of these, they are definitly a try them out product. They had a slight sparkle to them and wasn't very deep in color, either. I found that it was the perfect look for almost any type of night. Whether it be going to the movies, or just hanging out with friends, it was nice to find a really general type of look without going too overboard on color.

I wish I had some pictures that I could post on here, sadly the camera is M.I.A. So, for now, this is all I can give you guys until I figure out how the new phone will work with photos.

With the new year coming up, I hope that I am able to post some more blogs as well as trying to find ways of sharing my blog with my community.

As always, feel free, do what you like, and who cares how you act.
Just be yourself, and always follow your heart.

E.L.F. Haul

So I finally got my shipment from E.L.F. I love this site. If you've never checked them out I encourage everyone to do so. Or at least find a place in your area that sales these products. Most products are only a dollar, but some items can go as high as 3 for their studio line. All of their products are really good quality and I perfectly love them so if you have a few dollars to spend I really recommend going to this site.

So as I've said, I had gotten my shipment from them and it only came in about a week after I ordered it. I have ordered some of their products before but there was somethings that I didn't get before that I decided to try this time. One of these things was eye liner pen. I haven't got to try them yet or even open the product, but when I do get there I will post all of the swatches and reviews for all of these products. So with the eye liner pens I got them in two different colors. I have them in the coffee which is a really rich brown color and also in black. I hear that they are really easy to apply and also waterproof which comes in handy on a hot summer day. I also got the Earth and Water Mascara, which has two formulas one in waterproof and one in regular. I also got the Basic Browns: Get the Look set. It came with 3 eyeshadow pots, 2 applicators, 1 eyeliner in coffee (a pencil not a liquid), false eyelashes w/ glue, an eyeshadow brush, and another Earth and Water mascara in brown. I also got the duo eye shadow cream in Mocha Swirl. I hear that their cream shadows make a great base for eyeshadows and seeing as how I got the Basic Browns, I figured since the cream shadows I got were a light and dark brown it would make since to use these as bases for the look. I also got two of their Natural Radiance Blushers. One in Shy and the other in Innocence. Shy is a little darker so it is more of a peachy bronzer and Innocence is a really cute light pink color. I have personally used these product in the custom compacts kit and I love these blushers. They are so smooth and they last most of the day (I have a fairly oily complexion...). The eye widener is really cool. It's just your basic white eyeliner, but the thing that makes this unique is that the cap has a built in sharpener. So you don't have to worry about finding a way to keep this sharp, because it's just built into the lid! Awesome right? Okay so I'm pretty much obsessed with their nail polishes and so I got 3. I got the Royal Purple, Punk Purple, and Fuchsia. I love these nail polishes because they are quick to dry, are toluene, formaldehyde, and dibutyl phthalate (DBP) free. So if you know anything about these chemicals one thing you should difinitly know is that they have no place on your nails. The color of these polishes are extremely good and they are also chip resistant which is handy if you have a hard time keeping polish on your nails. I also received a few things for free. On of them was the lip gloss tin. The color varies usually by order and I got this for free for referring three friends (or just putting in 3 different emails). Another thing I got for free was the mini makeup kit. This usually goes by itself for 15 dollars but I got this for free when I spent 15 and also used a coupon code. I don't remember what it was but you can goggle it and find coupons for the site pretty easily.
As soon as I can find the time I plan on doing some swatches of everything as well as pictures of the products. As soon as I can get a decent camera, I would love to start posting some videos with tutorials and tips and tricks and hopefully some hauls.
So I hope that you guys liked this haul and will check out the site or find it in your local store and give them a try.

Till next time
Laters..
